about
amanda

Amanda moved to Salt Spring Island from Toronto, Canada with her long-time partner, two beloved cats, and enough art supplies to occupy her for the next decade. She likes making things. Because she’s never quite sure of what she’s doing, the results vary widely. She rewards herself with chocolate regardless of the outcome.

About
feltmaking

Wet felting starts with raw wool. The raw wool is pulled into thin, crosswise layers. It is then wet, rolled and agitated until the wool fibres lock together and form a sturdy fabric. The fabric is cut into shapes and dry felted onto a backing, using a barbed needle. Once a basic fabric canvas is available, details are added using a range of materials, including silks, threads and additional raw wool.
